News Release: Hunton & Williams LLP's Douglas Kenyon to Discuss the Legal Implications of Virtual Worlds at Inaugural TGC

Raleigh, N.C. - April 27, 2009 - Hunton & Williams LLP announced that Douglas W. Kenyon, a partner in the Raleigh office, will lead a session on intellectual property law and virtual worlds at the Triangle Game Conference in Raleigh, N.C. on April 30. The session will examine the legal issues and real world impact of virtual gaming platforms that mirror real life. Hunton & Williams is a sponsor of the Triangle Game Conference, for more information visit www.trianglegameconference.com.

Kenyon's presentation will explore the business of gaming and the emerging legal ramifications of mirroring buildings and other aspects of real life in realistic high definition throughout virtual worlds. Recent lawsuits in the gaming industry have raised questions about trademarking and fair use of individual likenesses, buildings, companies and other property in virtual worlds.

With extensive experience in the area of trademark and copyright, Kenyon is a founder of the firm's litigation and intellectual property practice. He has represented both domestic and international clients on intellectual property matters, including the acquisition, maintenance and licensing of intellectual property, the protection of intellectual property through anti-counterfeiting, infringement and cyber-squatting litigation. He will be joined at the conference by Timothy S. Goettel, partner in the Raleigh office, as well as Zachary R. Bishop and Canon I. Pence, associates in the Raleigh office. Bishop will be a panelist during a session titled "The Law of Gaming."
